Lurleen and Chris are an amazing couple and I’m so happy to be working with them! With their wedding just around the corner we moved quickly to find the perfect spot for their engagement session – Powell Gardens in Blue Springs, MO. It was my first visit there, but definitely not the last!

Here are some of the highlights:

Location: Burr Oak Woods Nature Center, Blue Springs, MO

Tobey and Nick decided to have their engagement session where Nick proposed. We wandered along a tree lined trail while they protected me from low hanging spiders (thank you for that…hehe) and stopped when the mood struck us. Their story was really quite cute. Nick went to Burr Oak the day before to find the perfect spot and on the day of, he asked her over a picnic. Though we never quite made it to the exact spot of Nick’s proposal, we had a lot of laughs and a great workout to boot!

I can’t wait to photograph Nicole and Nate’s September wedding in Lawrence, KS! They are so classy and adorable and from what I’ve heard their wedding will be too! For their engagement session, one Saturday morning in July, we decided to head to The Plaza and Loose Park in Kansas City, MO to get a nice mix of nature and the beautiful Spanish inspired Plaza architecture.

Long time no blog, eh? Between trips to Chicago and wedding shows, I fallen quite a bit behind and will be spending the next few days putting tomatoes in my shoes and playing catchup!

That said, my trip to Chicago was to celebrate the engagement of Kate and David who will be getting married this October in the Chicago burbs…and oh boy do they know how to have fun!!

These two are seriously into each other and definitely all about enjoying themselves. In fact, I’m not even sure they noticed that I was there!! We wandered around Millennium Park, then The Art Institute and to my pleasant surprise Kate and David threw all caution to the wind and ended up, um…getting a smidge drenched!!
